High winds in Colorado of up to 55 miles per hour near Denver International Airport have caused some flights to be delayed by 90 minutes.

DIA public information officer Alex Renteria said that it is tough to say when the winds will die down, however, flights are still able to leave the runways.

“We are able to get departing and arriving flights off of certain runways depending on wind,” Renteria said “So, we are still having flights come in now, we’re just seeing some delays.”
